KILLIAN WODER 313

Killian set himself up for a good chance to win two WORCS
Championships with a couple solid rides at Round Nine of the WORCS
Series. Held at the world famous Glen Helen Raceway the course used
the full motocross track as well as the REM track. Their famous hill
climbs and a lot of long high speed sections including the new CORR
Truck Track, made for a tough race especially in the 15-29 Sport A
class. This class is an Open type class and the 450cc bikes would have
a distinct advantage with their power and top speed. The hills along
with the wide open sections made the 250cc riders really have their
work cut out for them.. Killian did as he always does and rode his
normal fast but smooth race and was able to finish 5th in the Sport A
class behind four 450cc bikes. This gave him a comfortable lead in the
overall and he pretty much has to just finish in this class at the
final race in Mesquite to capture his 4th championship.
What really has us excited is the 250f A class where Killian, with
a Third Place finish, has moved himself into First overall with only
one race left. He had another flat tire but this time in the last
couple hundred yards of the race so he was able to hold on to third.
This season is Killian’s first year as a Big Bike Expert or “A”
rider . Our goal was to try to finish on the overall podium in at
least one class. As the year has progressed Killian has gotten more
comfortable and confident on the 250f and his results have reflected
it with a slow climb to the top of the leader board. He has a NOT so
comfortable 5 point lead over second which will definitely make for an
interesting race for the final round. Who will handle the pressure?
Killian has a slight advantage in that Mesquite can be considered a
home track. The off road section of Mesquite contains the biggest
sand section of all the places we have gone and contains as WORCS
Racers have said “The largest sand whoops in the world”. Killian loves
riding in the sand so everyone cross your fingers, Not for Killian’s
riding, but for DAD who has to make the bikes last for one more race!
Again who will handle the Pressure! One good note is that we think we
have solved our flat tire problem, but time will tell.

WORCS Round 9 Sept 17-19 2010
Glen Helen Raceway
250f A 3rd
15-29 Sport A 5th

Killian is all set to ride the Glen Helen 24 hour Endurance Race in a
couple weeks. A full report on that as well as WORCS Round 10 will be
coming next month in what will be our last race report for the 2010
Season. Big Thanks to everybody who has helped us this year.

.As always Killian and the entire Woder Family would like to thank all
his Sponsors…Without all of you it wouldn’t be possible!
Round 2 Race Report – Primm Valley Resort – Primm, NV
450 A – 6th Place (3rd in points)
Primm is a new stop on the WORCS tour but I had done a race at this venue last year and had a lot of fun so I was looking forward to this race. The course layout was much different than I had anticipated, it was very sandy fairly tight. The 450 race was by far the most stacked, with 47 guys on the line I knew a good start would be key. I got a good jump but was pinched off coming into the first corner and came out about mid pack. I worked my way up to tenth after the first lap and kept moving up. On the third lap my front brake rotor got hit by a rock so I was left without front brakes for the rest of the race. I was able to keep picking off guys but a last lap incident with a lapper cost me a couple places and I finished up in sixth.
Open A – 3rd Place (2nd in points)
I knew that the track was going to be beat up for this race so I just wanted to get a good start and scout out lines for the Pro 2 race the next day. I got a great jump and left the moto section in second place. I made a quick pass to take the lead for a brief moment but dropped back to second by the end of the first lap. I was trying to ride smooth and I found some good lines and conserved a good amount of energy for the Pro 2 race. I was able to secure third place fairly easily.

Pro 2 – 6th Place
Since the venue doesn’t have a starting gate we we’re forced to have a dead engine start. I felt confident in my dead engine starting ability but when the flag waved it took four or five kicks for me to get going. So with my bad start I knew that I had my work cut out for me. I came around the first lap in eighteenth place, dang it! After the couple first laps I was sitting just outside the top ten but was still determined to move up farther. On the tenth lap I finally broke into the top ten and could see a few guys just up in front of me. I was able to catch up and pass a couple guys and on the last lap I knew I had to give it all I had. I ran my fastest lap on the final lap passing one more guy and coming within eight seconds of fifth place. I was a bit frustrated with my sixth place finish because I knew that I should be up in the top three.
Thanks to all for your continued support!
Brad Goolsby
